What is Smile Design?

Smile design is the most aesthetically appropriate tooth design analysis of human’s mouth and face anatomy. The ideal smile should be considered to be compatible with teeth, lips and face.
To do this, your dentist will first check whether you meet the criteria of smile design and identify the problematic areas and then make a special smile design for you.
The horizontal alignment of the pupils and teeth, the symmetry of the anterior incisors, the alignment of the smile line, the gingival line that appears when you smile, the width of the smile, the natural and triangular space between the tooth tips called embrasure, and the proportion of teeth and face and face are the criteria of smile design.
Smile Design Technique
This treatment is unique for every patient. Treatment includes at least 3 visits. When the patient came for consultation, the teeth of the patient were photographed and digital oral modeling was performed before the procedure. The result was shown to the patient by digital method including CAD / CAM and Digital Smile Design (DSD).
The procedure starts with a mockup and then the final result is determined by the patient. Your dentist will whiten your teeth first. It is designed with a smile shape, lumen, E-max, Empress porcelain, Zirconia Crown and Filled Porcelain Crown.
Smile design is also a combination of lip and face ratio. If the patient has a gummy smile, your dentist may use treatments such as dermal fillers.
How Long Does a Smile Design Last?
The design of the smile lasts up to 1-2 hours. Next, the dentist will prepare the design using CAD / CAM and DSD. On other visits, the mockup lasts up to 2-3 hours. You decide the final design of your smile. Finally, the last operation takes up to 1 hour.
The smile analysis also evaluates the patient’s age, expectations and physical characteristics, and the dentist and person together decide the final outcome. After the patient is offered alternative treatment options, from orthodontic to laminate, from composite to gingival aesthetics and zirconium crown, treatment is started.
